Heather New Named Vice President of Operations at Aligned Tek
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Aligned Tek, a Birmingham-based managed IT services provider and subsidiary of Aligned Holdings, Inc., announced Monday that Heather Brothers New has been appointed vice president of operations, effective immediately.
New previously served as vice president of operations for Aligned Holdings, where she oversaw financial systems integration, client profitability analysis, and organizational development across both Aligned Tek and Aligned Insurance. In her new role, she will focus exclusively on Aligned Tek’s continued growth, directing the company’s human resources, finance and marketing operations while supporting its long-term strategic goals.
New will work closely with Aligned Tek President Kirby Watson and Vice President of Technology Joey Bearden to strengthen the company’s operational foundation and drive efficiency across teams.

A veteran organizational leader with almost two decades of executive experience, New has earned statewide recognition across Alabama for her success in financial turnarounds, strategic planning, and community advancement. Before joining Aligned Holdings in 2022, she served eleven years as president and CEO of The Chamber of Gadsden/Etowah County, where she led the organization through a major fiscal and operational recovery – eliminating debt, establishing new revenue streams, and developing the chamber’s first strategic economic plan – and was awarded the 2019 Alabama Chamber Professional of the Year.
New holds professional designations including Certified Chamber Executive (CCE), Institute for Organization Management (IOM), and Alabama Accredited Chamber Executive (AACE). She is also a graduate of the Economic Development Association of Alabama’s Leadership Institute and Auburn University’s Government and Economic Development Institute (GEDI) and has served on several statewide boards focused on community development, business and workforce growth, including the Business Council of Alabama, Alabama Department of Public Health’s Women’s Health Council, and VOICES for Alabama’s Children.
A Gadsden State Community College alumna and Jacksonville State University Gamecock, New has long been regarded as a trusted collaborator, strategist, and mentor within Alabama’s business community.
